Hartford, Conn. - April 11, 2005 -- M2W-The Marketing to Women Conference, April 18 & 19 at the Chicago Cultural Center, is designed to help businesses learn how to increase their share of the powerful women's market. Marketing-to-women experts will detail the importance of understanding female gender culture before determining a marketing communications plan targeted to women.
In the forward to Marketing to Women, a recent book written by M2W Conference Leadership Chair, Marti Barletta, world-renowned business leadership guru Tom Peters writes, "This Women's Thing is unmistakably, in my opinion.ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY NO.1. (And there's no close second)."
Peters, also a member of the M2W Leadership Committee, will make special video appearances throughout the conference. Marti Barletta will chair the program and share her key gender findings with insights on why women reach different brand purchase decisions than men. All M2W attendees will receive a copy of her book.
M2W provides important general sessions and "how-to" workshops. One session which focuses on using "non-traditional" media will be facilitated by Siobhan Olsen, Director, Frank About Women. She explains, "Adding initiatives that are tailored to a woman's life stage, life style and information consumption patterns can help companies leverage new media vehicles, technology, experiential marketing and more to harness the purchasing power of women."
Another session, led by Steve Knox, CEO, Tremor division of Proctor and Gamble will also help attendees understand how to capture their share of the women's market. Knox says, "We believe that a powerful and effective way to reach women is through their own social networks. When a woman hears from a friend about a product, she is more likely to trust the information. The result is a greater likelihood of purchase."
