New Sales Model Needed When Selling Financial Services
to Modern Women
Hartford, Conn. - April 10, 2007 -- Marketers in the financial services industry must truly understand today's modern woman to successfully gain share in the lucrative women's market. Executives from Prudential Financial, Inc. and Wachovia will reveal insights on marketing financial services to women as part of The 4th Annual M2W™-The Marketing-to-Women Conference to be held April 25-26, 2007 at the Chicago Cultural Center. M2W™ is the premier national marketing conference designed to help brands increase emotional, cognitive and financial share with the powerful women's market.
"With 21 million career women moving up the corporate ranks and launching companies at 2.5 times the rate of male-owned businesses, women are now key influencers in business, politics and the environment," says Genevieve Bos, Publisher of Pink Magazine. Live, on-stage at M2W™, Bos will interview Jenny Ward, VP and Brand Manager, Cross-Enterprise and Women's Segment Marketing for Wachovia Corporation. Bos explains, "My M2W™ interview with Jenny Ward will reveal what top companies like Wachovia are doing to reach America's most influential women."
Maria Umbach, VP Marketing for Prudential Financial, Inc. and M2W™ presenter notes, "Old sales messages that come from a superior position, saying things like 'you shouldn't have bought...' or 'don't worry your pretty head' don't work with women, especially when selling intangibles like financial services." Umbach adds, "Whether you're in sales or marketing, creating the right environment for women to trust you, feel safe and feel a sense of community is the cornerstone. It is also important to make it fun and interesting, perhaps by blending in other elements other than just financial topics."
M2W™ is sponsored by WE tv; DraftFCB; Ketchum; Prudential Financial; Google; Manning, Selvage & Lee; Paolo Cardelli; ME Magazine; Menopause The Musical; Content That Works; and Paramount Market Publishing. Media Sponsors are Fast Company and Pink Magazine. Getty Images is the Imagery Resource.
