Female Consumers Share True Feelings Live,
On-Stage to Audience of Marketers
Hartford, Conn. - May 2, 2006 -- 2nd Annual M2W®-The Marketing to Women Conference, May 8-9, 2006 at the Chicago Cultural Center will include a live talk show featuring 10 female consumers revealing "What Marketers Don't Get about Me" to attendees. M2W® is the premiere national marketing conference designed to give brands the research, resources and connections needed to drive sales in the $7 trillion dollar women's market.
"Consumers are the most important people for marketers to learn from. The voices of real women will bring insights about marketing to women into focus and provide attendees with perspectives to apply to their business building plans," explains Jen Drechsler who will facilitate the on-stage discussion with audience Q & A. Drechsler and co-presenter, Tracy Chapman, are co-directors of branding for marketing agency Just Ask a Woman.
Also, this year's M2W® will feature an on-stage interview by Linda Tischler, Senior Writer at Fast Company with Carolyn Sachs, co-founder of Pennsylvania Women's Agricultural Network (WAGN). The interview will illuminate the dramatic growth of female farmers during a time when America is losing farms. The 2002 US Department of Agriculture census found that 240,000 farms are run by women; twice the number from 25 years ago. Pennsylvania has seen a 20 percent increase in female farmers. Sachs explains how this trend translates into an interesting marketing story, "Women have traditionally been the ones responsible for feeding families. Now they are rapidly joining the production side of the food chain. Women are not only preparing dinner; they are producing it too. As consumers increasingly demand higher quality food-from hormone-free meat to organic fruits and vegetables, these women are on the forefront growing and raising products they know are in high demand among chefs, grocery stores and schools."
